Mr. Vegas Releases New Single “Bright Future” Following ‘Latin American Music Awards’ Nomination
With his recent nomination at the upcoming ‘Latin American Music Awards,’ Mr. Vegas wasted no time delivering his new single “Bright Future” to celebrate the milestone.
Also featuring Nigerian Afropop sensation Yemi Alade, the two superstars perfectly accommodate one another on the track and in the accompanying music video shot in Guadalupe.
“Bright Future” has been sweeping the charts, amassing more than 600K views on YouTube and hundreds of thousands of streams across all other DSPs. The record perfectly shows why Mr. Vegas is a prime candidate for ‘Best Crossover Artist’ at the upcoming Latin American Music Awards.
The reputable event will take place next week, April 20th, at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas. Other nominees include DJ Khaled, The Weeknd, Megan Thee Stallion, Ed Sheeran, and Justin Timberlake.
Despite venturing into new genres of music, Mr. Vegas remains loyal to his roots as he continues to stay true to dancehall even two decades after his worldwide hit “Heads High” from 1998. Ol’ Dirty Bastard Documentary Set To Premiere At Apollo Theater
The forthcoming unveiling of a documentary about Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s influential presence and enduring legacy is set to take place at the iconic Apollo Theater in New York. The highly anticipated film, dubbed “ODB: A Tale Of Two Dirtys,” is scheduled to debut as part of the Hip-Hop 50 event tonight Saturday, August 12, providing an unprecedented examination of the late rapper’s life and contributions to music. A panel discussion is slated for after the screening, and the entire event is open to the public at no charge.
“Through archival footage—including never-before-seen outtakes, home videos and personal photos—and firsthand accounts from ODB’s family, business managers and the film’s producers, this panel event will inspire and educate, illuminating aspects of the entertainment industry and giving audience members an inside look into how the definitive ODB documentary went from concept to reality. It’s an unprecedented level of access to one of Hip-Hop’s most enigmatic figures. Don’t miss it!”
Fans who are among the first 50 to arrive for this complimentary event will be rewarded with a unique vinyl edition of Wu-Tang Clan’s groundbreaking inaugural album, “Return To 36 Chambers: The Dirty Version.”
After losing his life to a drug overdose in 2004, Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s legacy has been carried on by his son, Weather Park, who recently spoke about the significant role that RZA, fellow Wu-Tang Clan member, played in his life after his father’s passing.
“I would call RZA and just ask him questions about anything like meditation, thinking, breathing skills, just things to keep the mental health in order. As we both know, I lost my dad. So without my dad, I would say that I had to figure out a lot of things on my own. But having a great mind like RZA just available to speak to me is super helpful to my life. Just keeping my head on the swivel, even though I was maybe facing things that an average person from New York City is facing.”
“I applaud him for even being in my life, even if it was at its littlest degree. I applaud him for it because the time that he took just to talk to me was enough to let me go back and read a book, you know what I mean? And not just because I’m around the Abbot. It’s more about I have to continuously be teaching myself something.
“So I don’t know, I guess that’s the perfect way to word it. Yeah, just very impactful. I would say his relationship in my life is very impactful.”
A&E is also planning to spotlight the unique impact of the eccentric Wu-Tang Clan member in an approved documentary, “Biography: Ol’ Dirty Bastard,” which has received the blessings of ODB’s estate.
The forthcoming biography promises to offer a comprehensive view of his artistic achievements and enduring influence while not shying away from the many challenges he faced in his personal life, including substance abuse, infidelity, celebrity, mental health issues, abrupt financial success, racial issues and interactions with the legal system. The biography further probes the extent to which the media and the music industry may have accelerated his downfall.
“I am thrilled to tell the full story of my husband. With this documentary the world will learn about the son, the husband, the father, and the artist. I’m proud of the team that we built, including Pulse, my producing partners Nicole Beckett and Messiah Jacobs at Four Screens, and our directing team, the Pollards.”
