DJ Carolina X Delivers New Single “Chop It Up”
DJ Carolina X teamed up with Charlotte, North Carolina artist LongLiveWoulf to deliver a dope, new collaboration titled “Chop It Up.” With X on the beat, and WOULF on the vocals, the single has only been out for 6 months but continues to gain viral traction by the day. It has reached the radio and clubs outside of the Carolinas, including Texas, Florida, Georgia and New York.
“Chop It Up” is just the beginning, as DJ Carolina X is ready to receive all blessings in 2023 and beyond! Born Nathaniel Perkins on November 3rd, 1989, X continues to pave the way for his hometown. He has worked for multiple syndicated radio stations in numerous markets including North and South Carolina, Virginia, Texas, Kentucky, Tennessee, and more under the umbrella of IHeart Radio and Radio One companies.
Eventually, Carolina X began working with mega hip-hop celebrities, opening for Yo Gotti, Lil Baby, Future, DaBaby, Nicki Minaj, Latto, A Tribe Called Quest, 21 Savage and many others. However, he is most proud of the work he is currently doing at ‘The Committee,’ a California based promotion group specializing in events and entertainment. Carolina X prepares for his Memorial Day Weekend 3 Day Tour in San Diego, Corpus Christi, and Las Vegas.
“My goal is to see myself as a staple not only in the Carolina scene but globally too as a DJ and producer,” he said. “I want to one day be among the ranks of DJ Clue, DJ Infamous, DJ Envy and DJ Khaled. “Those DJs stand out to me not only in skill but their brand. That’s the spot I need to be in.” -X

From Serving Their Country to Serving Up Hits: The Inspiring Story of 86 Records
Minority-owned record label, 86 Records is led by four service veterans that bonded over their love of music, particularly the 80s – hence their name. As natural leaders, partners Josue Prosper, Denis Debranche, Joel Strickland, and Jesus Castillo are committed to fostering a culture of excellence in the music industry.
The label launched in 2017, and since its inception, the company has been determined to create a platform for music artists that values integrity and discipline. They pride themselves on teamwork and cohesion, offering services beyond music production and distribution, including financial literacy, mental health, resume building, investments, and more.
Being influenced by high-profile figures in the industry and drawing inspiration from other label owners, such as Quality Control Music Group, the founders realized their eye for finding and fostering talent. The current roster consists of R&B duo Channel7Seven, Hip-Hop artist/engineer Young Prototype, and Hip-Hop artist Timmy Takeova.
Looking for artists with passion, work ethic, and self-awareness, the current roster was an easy assemble, as each artist had existing relationships with the owners prior to joining the label.
86 Records has also now partnered with communications firm Playbook MG to champion their mission and help push the label to the forefront! So stay tuned and be sure to keep up with the game’s hottest new label via Instagram for all news and updates.
